Deng out at least 2 games, Gibson maybe 1

I guess 2 games is better than 2 weeks but that "possibly longer" part could make what I just wrote completely pointless.

Deng Injury not Serious. Bulls Situation is Serious.

2010-03-10 11:35:39 - Chicago Bulls Blog

Well, at least Luol Deng’s latest injury doesn’t seem serious. Though the Bulls season could use some good news as well. Deng underwent an MRI Wednesday morning for a calf injury and the preliminary indications are a strain and he could miss a few days. So Deng could miss at least Thursday’s game in Orlando and perhaps even Friday’s in Miami, although I assume he goes on the trip. Thursday’s game will be a tough one with Deng, Taj Gibson and Brad Miller all with minor injury concerns and Joakim Noah still out with plantar fasciitis but apparently getting a......Read More

Bulls Defenseless Again in Loss to Jazz

2010-03-09 22:43:11 - Chicago Bulls Blog

There’s a famous story from the 1998 playoffs I was reminded of watching the Bulls submit and lose to the Utah Jazz Tuesday, 132-108, the team’s fifth consecutive loss in falling to ninth place and, at least for now, out of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers were trailing 3-0 in the Western Conference finals and just finished up what everyone knew was their final practice of the season before Game 4. Players usually gather at the end of practice for some sort of unity exclamation. The Lakers was, “One, two, three, win.” So the team huddled and......Read More

Chicago Bulls Make It Five Straight—Losses

2010-03-09 21:29:20 - Bleacher Report - Chicago Bulls

And the Chicago Bulls are officially out of the playoffs...as of now.

With a Bulls' loss to the Utah Jazz Tuesday night and a Charlotte Bobcats win over the Miami Heat, the Bulls have now fallen to the ninth seed, a half game behind both the Bobcats and the Heat and a game under .500.

Currently, nothing is going right for the Bulls.

The team has given up 100 or more points in eight straight games including 115 points per game during the five-game losing streak.

Also during the five-game losing streak, the Bulls have given up nearly 50 points per game in the paint...

No limitations for Deng as Bulls host Jazz

2010-03-09 16:46:02 - Chicago Bulls Blog

By Adam Fluck Luol Deng will play against the Jazz and Tuesday night at the United Center after missing Monday’s practice with the flu. Bulls Head Coach Vinny Del Negro said that no limitations were set for him, though the team’s staff would keep an eye on his conditioning as the game progressed. “He’s better today,” said Del Negro. “He was pretty sick [Monday]. He went through shootaround and felt better. We’ll monitor that throughout the game. If he’s feeling well, he’ll stay out there. If he’s a little sluggish and needs a break, he’ll get it.” The matchup at......Read More

It's always the darkest before the light (or something)

2010-03-08 06:14:41 - Blog a Bull

Saturday night's game just proved that even if the Bulls play well, the opponent matters a lot. Even with three straight home games against teams coming off a game the night before, the Bulls couldn't steal a victory. With the defense suffering after the trades and injuries, the Bulls need some more cupcakes to feast on, and soon.

Unfortunately it won't be until the last dozen games of the year, as Mike McGraw points out:

it’s tough to tell when this skid will end. T...
